Red Handling, the handling entity of Norwegian airlines, signed a multi-year contract to operate the XOPS solution for their GSE tracking and Fleet Management in Spain, via their GSE management partner AES.

The Europe Handling Group, the number one airport handler in France , has chosen the XOPS to monitor its cargo handling activities in real time. The Europe Handling Group subsidiary dedicated to ramp handling of both cargo and postal palettes and containers, had been evaluating different options for increasing efficiency and cost saving. Since the middle of March 2013, the handler has already installed the XOPS system in over 30 of its airport vehicles. By linking all relevant airport data in real time, it allows the supervision of movements of all ground service equipment (GSE). This is achieved by the installation of an electronic tag which is embedded in the vehicles themselves. In addition, the system can not only monitor and maximize the management of human resources, but also controls the flexible automatic operations of loading and unloading ULDs. The XOPS technology, after some 7 years development, has established its credentials as the leading software solution for real time monitoring of all mobile equipment both in the warehouse and on the ramp. From a central monitor it can keep visual control of drivers and operations as well as calculating charges for invoicing purposes. “The pressure to keep down costs while increasing efficiency has been and will continue to dominate ground operations. The XOPS system will help to achieve this objective because XOPS is reducing both expensive GSE fleet and Human resources, the monthly cost of a push can reach 12000 USD/month , a bus 4000 USD/month. Optimizing such investment is providing some huge savings for ground handler. Photo Credit: Mariordo (Mario Roberto Durán Ortiz) [CC BY-SA 3.0], via Wikimedia Commons
