XOPS technology introduced in RyanAir ground handling operations at London Stansted and multiple airports across Spain
XOPS is now installed on all of the ground support equipment (GSE) at its critical Stansted (UK) hub. It is gradually being rolled out across 24 airports in Spain during summer 2020.
Several hundred GSE including Aircraft push backs, Cargo tractors, Belt loaders, Air start units, Ground power units, de icers & vans have been equipped with advanced telematics devices allowing the Ryanair operations team to track the safety, performance, utilization and efficiency of their fleet in real-time from any of its operational offices.
Ryanair is renown around the world for its low-cost operational efficiency and fast turnarounds of its planes, wherever it flies. To ensure both these objectives are met, Ryanair set up its own ground handling service company (Blue Handling in UK and AZUL handling in Spain) and made telematics a critical element to the successful operation of its GSE fleet. With Vehicle Access Control and advanced XOPS FMS software, Ryanair is now able to plan and track its GSE operation to meet its intense flight schedule, using the real-time and historic analytical and reporting capability to better manage safety, performance, productivity and reduce the cost of GSE maintenance and damage by proactive decision making based on information the XOPS telematics provides.
